We Inspire Each Other

I am truly feeling inspired & grateful for all the wonderful people in my life. As I was reading a friends blog today that had many wonderful healthy recipes, it dawned on me. It’s truly wonderful that we can share our progress, pains, hardships, sadness, progression, happiness, achievements and more importantly love with one another in a matter of seconds. No matter how far away you are.

When a friend looses someone in their life, it’s our job to step up & try to fill the void & help them feel the love. When a family member embarks on a healthy journey or quits smoking it’s our job to step up & be the support they need in order for them to successfully change.

Although technology can be very distracting, it also is such a wonderful tool to find inspiration & support when you need it. I love being able to read inspiring blogs , stories, look at pictures or connect with family & friend that are thousands of miles away when I need them.

Remember to give love, share your passions and support one another, because today this is our tribe & community. We need not only to lift our selves but inspire others.

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”

Today I am grateful

"Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude." —Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today a very smart & beautiful friend shared her insecurities with me. If you could only see this woman she is what every women dreams of being & yet she is strong on the outside & fragile & insecure on the inside. What makes us feel this way?

Many would blame it on media images, plastic surgery, upbringing, surrounding, abusive relationships and much more.  I have see this over & over in my life & I have lived and felt it myself. Till I have learned to consciously be grateful and pay gratitude to the many things in my life. It is a work on progress and like anything self love needs to be practiced.

The beauty in this world is that we are all different, we speak different languages we look different our physical sizes are different, our hearts are different and so are our tastes, but most importantly I feel, as long as you love yourself no one can show you true love. The key is to love yourself the way you wish someone would love you.

Why yoga is so great, its because for the time you are practicing yoga on your mat you are leaving all this negative energy away and you are opening you heart to inner self to true self love. Unconditional self love that connects the true you to this physical body we live in every day. We are all perfect in our own way. The key is remembering that. For me I have had to verbally acknowledge my gratitude’s daily in order to remember and strengthen my own self love.

Remember start your day by setting an intention for your day & acknowledging your gratitudes!

Envisioning 2013

It’s that time of year to let go of the past and step into the NEW! There are many fun ways to kick off the New Year, and setting a New Year’s resolution is one of them. Most of us do it.

One of my family’s traditions is to write ourselves a letter of all our goals, hopes & dreams for the coming year. You seal the letter and don’t open it until the next New Years Eve. So it’s almost time for me to read my 2012 letter of resolutions and see what I have achieved and what has changed, or what I need to continue focusing on in 2013. Then I will write a new letter to myself and seal it till 12/31/13.

One thing I also like to do each year is to create a vision board. This board sits in my office & I get to look at every day, with reminders of personal goals. I also like to update it periodically when new things come or go in my life.

My 2013 Vision Board

Sometimes having one big New Year’s goal is hard to focus on and follow. Maybe setting smaller monthly/or quarterly goals might work better. Goals can change, & life happens along the way.  A vision board can help motivate you plus it can change with new goals.

Another thing about New Year’s resolutions is that sometimes we focus on what we want to change & forget to embrace accomplishments and reward ourselves for all the great we done. Remember to embrace your positives.

Don’t neglect other parts of your life, set health goals, financial goals, career goals, educational goals, physical goals, family, and service goals. Just remember to keep growing as a complete individual and not to get too carried away in one area.

In 2013, every day wake up with an intention for your day & take a moment to think about what you would like to be acknowledged for that day. This is something I ask my yoga student to do every class. You will find more meaning in your life and connection to who you truly are.

Remember ONE LIFE. LIVE IT! And always pay it forward!
